Central Jakarta Sudinpusip to Hold Panggung Literasi This Saturday

This Saturday (9/14), Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-department (Sudinpusip) will hold Panggung Literacy with theme 'Dari Buku Aku Berkarya' at its office's yard, Jalan Tanah Abang 1 No. 1, RW 11/08, Petojo Selatan, Gambir.

It will be held from 8 AM to 8 PM and enlivened with various workshops and cultural arts performances that involves local residents, communities, and students.
Meti Lastri, Central Jakarta Sudinpusip Head conveyed, through this event her side wants to encourage Central Jakartans, especially teenagers and children, to love reading.

In this event, visitors from all age who want to learn making mural, writing poetry, theater, and making book review can join the workshops since it is opened for public.
Professional teachers and speakers are also invited to teach participants in each workshops, such as Bambang Ismantoro (actor), Bambang Wahyudin (theater performer), Irmansyah and Lukman Asya (literature), Bambang Asrini Widjanarko and Ridwan Manantik (fine art).
"For poetry, participants will be asked to make one poetry and recite it on Panggung Literasi stage. As well as theater. While for mural, we have provided room on basement to practice mural," she explained.
Central Jakarta Sudinpusip Library Section Head, Tanwil conveyed, this is the first time Panggung Literasi is held by involving communities, academics, journalists, art practitioner, karang taruna community, PKK cadres, local communities, and regional civil apparatuses to collaborate creating an educative event.
"We also invite
disabled students to participate in this event. Our target is 700-1,000 people visiting this event," he conveyed.He hopes this event to create a euphoria that can encourage people to build their interest in reading. Panggung Literasi is also expected to promote library as people's third home.
"For students, their first home is their own house, then second home is their schools, and we want library to be their third home. We want to deliver this concept that makes reading as a part of their lifestyle," he asserted.
For information, giant book and 1,000 books installation which are created by Agus Firmansyah will be displayed in Panggung Literasi.
